Welcome to the space where I share all the things I create

For as long as I can remember, I have been compelled and driven to create. There are boxes of drawings, paintings, collages, photography, and sketchbooks filled with everything from poetry to wedding gowns. This space will collect my creations for display but also for reflection. I am a persistently curious thinker who seeks to learn from each experience. Writing provides an outlet for my thoughts while also providing a moment to pause and analyze.

I have dedicated my life to the pursuit of creativity and knowledge, and feel privileged to be able to pursue my dreams. With this privilege, I attribute responsibility; thus, I am seeking to engage in a design career that will enrich society. This belief coupled with my creative drive has bred a designer, writer, and strategist that will receive a Masters in Graphic Design from North Carolina State University in May 2012. I am excited to begin the next phase of my life.

Enjoy perusing my portfolio and blog. Feel free to share your thoughts and contact me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Amina Patton or Mina Machelle?
I love my name, but I decided long ago that I would need something with some flair once I became a world-class designer. Using my nickname and middle name, Mina Machelle is the catchy alter ego I’ve always wanted for my signature original designs.

What’s with the peacock?
Inspired by the phrase of a rare breed, I chose to be represented by a peacock which symbolizes wisdom and benevolence. The icon represents my individuality and my philosophy. Not to mention that there is nothing more rare and impossible than a pink female peacock!

Can you design something for me?
I would love to! Let’s get acquainted and you can tell me all about it. I love the challenge of new creative endeavors and schemes. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
